The valve is normally mounted on an adapter which is included with the valve. The valve provides a counter balance function on the motor high pressure line. On low pressure line, there is a straight through connection. Maximum operating pressure is 350 bar and maximum flow 1000 l/min. The valve is available in two main configurations: VCBCA 1000 Counter balance valve with adapter. VCBCA 1000 Counter balance valve with adapter and with option for external opening of counter balance spool. Notice! Only one valve is to be used on the Hägglunds CBM. For more than one valve, contact Bosch Rexroth DC-IA/EHD. Notice! If the counter balance spool is opened externally for emergency lowering of a load, the current used motor must be inspected. Function The cartridge within the valve for counter balance is mounted in bores in a manifold block and retained by screws on covers with all connections to create the valve function within the block. The valve provides counter balance control of the associated motor on the valve high pressure line only. When lowering the load pressure generated in the motor high pressure line is held by the pressure cartridges (910) and (920) until the pilot pressure from opposite motor C line reaches the set value. Then the counter balance cartridge opens and allows flow from the motor to Am port on valve to exit into the valve P line. When hoisting a check valve (910) by-passes the counter balance spool to give free flow from valve P port to the Am port. The counter balance cartridge starts to lift at a pilot pressure of 20 bar and is fully open at 28 bar, regardless of load pressure. In an emergency situation, the cartridge (920) can be opened using an external pilot connection to port EML. This version of the valve has index number 01.
